We are a Pupil Referral Unit based in Lichfield where we work with students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Our primary objective is to understand the complexities of our young people by consistently interpreting behaviour when used as a language. Our mission is to be curious about the needs sitting behind the language of behaviour and ultimately dismantling the barriers our young people have to their learning, development and progress. To enable us to deliver our mission of ‘Believe, Inspire and Set no Limits’ we promote the attributes of outstanding moral and performance character by rewarding effort, resilience, consideration and responsibility. Therefore, we work relentlessly to provide an educational environment where students feel safe, valued and ready to engage.
Our curriculum is designed to provide a range of opportunities and secure a spectrum of achievement for our young people. Academic achievement is valued alongside wider opportunities making it both broad and balanced. The school offers placements to students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings but we also offer six and twelve week placements on a dual register basis aimed at preventing permanent exclusion. We are immensely proud of the alternative offer our school makes to the young people of our community and we are consistently looking to improve. To that end we work closely with our partner schools through sharing our expertise and providing a range of outreach programmes. We also work closely with a range of partners and providers to prepare our students for life beyond school and allow them to be individuals, who can make a positive contribution to the local and wider communities.
