INCLUSION ASSISTANT

Required September 2019

Permanent – Term Time – 32.5 hrs

Grade 5 SCP16-20 (£19,171-£20,344 pro rata)

(actual salary £14,558-£15,758)

(Based at ‘Little Bridge’ School Rd, Rugeley WS15 2PD)

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Inclusion Assistant with behaviour management experience to join us at our established Primary Short Stay School. You will have experience in managing challenging behaviour and supporting both learners and families.

From September 2019, we will be moving our primary provision into a new and bigger building based in Rugeley, Staffordshire. Little Bridge provides an education for students in the Lichfield, Rugeley, Burntwood and Cannock primary schools who are either permanently excluded from school, in danger of losing their mainstream place or experiencing emotional, mental health problems.

As part of our expansion plans we are increasing the number of places we are offering. Students follow a holistic curriculum and focus on learning the skills needed to be successful in a classroom environment. English and Maths are taught daily as well as History, PE, Cooking and other vocational subjects.

The Bridge Centre continues to be ‘Good’ after a short Ofsted inspection in December 2018. The staff team are very supportive of each other and we are working actively with staff at other similar provisions in Staffordshire to ensure that the most vulnerable young people in our society get the very best education.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is resilient and forward thinking to join the School at a key point in our journey. Experience in alternative provision primary education is desirable, but more importantly, is the willingness to be flexible and work as part of a team.

For an informal discussion please contact Andrew Burton, Headteacher, on 01543 255872.
