Bridge Short Stay School provides an education for KS1-KS4 students in the Lichfield and Burntwood District who are either permanently excluded from school, in danger of losing their mainstream place or experiencing emotional health issues.  Bridge staff are dedicated to improving the life chances of students and wherever possible encouraging them to return to mainstream education where possible.  Bridge Short Stay School is now a place where students can achieve and exceed previous expectations. We have a strong, supportive staff team in an environment where there is a positive ethos and a sense of enjoyment.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated member of staff as a Primary Outreach Worker for the Bridge Centre. The position will be mainly based in the Cannock primary district supporting young learners who, for various reasons, are struggling to access mainstream education. The work will follow the ethos of The Bridge and the successful candidate will spend a period of time learning from our specialists in our centre before engaging in the outreach work.

Experience of working with challenging behaviour in a primary school setting will be essential as well as the ability to coach and train staff in positive behavioural principles. The ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders is also an essential part of the job.

If you feel that this is the job for you, please don’t hesitate to call the School to ask for further details.

2 x PRIMARY INCLUSION ASSISTANTS

REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

PERMANENT – TERM TIME ONLY (32.5 hours)

GRADE 5 – SCP16-SCP20 £13,911-£15,917 (pro rata)

We are seeking to appoint two experienced Inclusion Assistants with Behaviour Management experience to work in our Primary Section established at Bridge Short Stay School (PRU) in Lichfield.

Bridge Short Stay School provides an education for students in the Lichfield and Burntwood District, and Cannock primary schools who are either permanently excluded from school, in danger of losing their mainstream place or experiencing emotional, mental health problems.

The primary section of the school will be intent upon enabling children to return to school as soon as possible with support from the District Inclusion Officer.

Bridge underwent a successful Ofsted inspection in October 2013, where the outcome was ‘Good’ in all areas.  The strengths of the school lie in the teaching of the Arts in all disciplines but also in the ability to offer a varied curriculum.  The staff team is very supportive of each other and this is an exciting opportunity to further develop experience in the management of challenging behaviour.

Experience in mainstream primary education is essential as is the willingness to be flexible and work as part of a team.

For an informal discussion please contact Andrew Burton, Headteacher on 01543 255872.
